“Bogart, is a revelation here…C'est moi!, achieves a touching note of grace.”
-Peter Marks, THE WASHINGTON POST on Camelot
"Mr. Bogart's whispery interpretation fits into a show that speaks softly the better to hear what's within it."
-Ben Brantley, THE NEW YORK TIMES, on Starbuck in 110˚ in the Shade

THE GOAT or, Who Is Sylvia?
at Arc Stages
Martin has a perfect life. A beautiful, intelligent wife. A glittering career. Fame and fortune. There’s just one problem, who is Sylvia?
"Matt Bogart’s titanic performance showcases a man right of out a Greek tragedy, whose precipitous fall actually evokes pity despite the inherent repulsion we initially feel towards him. Bogart never reaches or overplays, instead smartly playing Martin close to the vest, and imbuing him with a passion that somehow makes the audience understand his tortured love. The moment Bogart gets down on one knee and describes first making eye contact and falling in love with Sylvia is simultaneously appalling and somehow beautiful, due to the actor’s full immersion into the role."
-Pace Chronicle Review by Amine Kassaoui (Feature Editor) on The Goat or, Who is Sylvia?
Matt stars as Martin in Albee's acclaimed play.

Directorial debut with JERSEY BOYS at Theatre Raleigh with my dear friend, Lauren Kennedy Brady (Producing Artistic Director).
"The venue’s intimate space, combined with Matt Bogart’s seamless direction, puts a whole new spin on this much-loved musical. In fact, it’s fair to say that, unless you’ve seen Jersey Boys like this, you haven’t really seen Jersey Boys.
It’s so sleek, so streamlined, so detailed, and incredibly up-close-and-personal. It has no room to get away with the minor mistakes or imperfections so common in bigger productions, and it faces this challenge head-on without faltering." - Triangle Arts
“Four guys under a street lamp, when it was all still ahead of us…the first time we made that sound-our sound-when everything dropped away and all there was, was the music-that was the best.”

The Reviews are in for Jersey Boys:

"He doesn't try to recreate Des McAnuff's staging from the original. Instead, Bogart successfully creates his own staging that is more intimate and clever at times. 'Oh, What a Night' out this was for me! Great songs that are performed very well. A compelling story that is told in such an entertaining way. It's impossible to not have a good time here." - BroadwayWorld Raleigh
"Hats off to Matt Bogart for his nimble direction of this story of one of the most iconic bands from the 1960s. If you only see one live production this year, this is the one to see, and we say that without hesitation. This show reminded us of how great theater can be. - Triangle Theatre Review
