"Himself and Nora" is the story of James Joyce and his wife, Nora. Matt premiered this piece in 2005 at the Old Globe in San Diego, CA.

The National Tour of Camelot closed on 4-20-08 in West Palm Beach, Fl after a long, healthy run. Matt wishes to thank friends, family and everyone who attended and showed their support for him and for the theatre communities across the country.

Matt currently stars as Lancelot in the national tour of CAMELOT in the company of Lou Diamond Phillips as King Arthur, Rachel de Benedet as Guenevere and Shannon Stoeke (CCM compatriot) as Mordred.

Matt will create the role of Mr. Knightley in the world premiere of the new musical, "EMMA," written by Paul Gordon (Jane Eyre: the musical) at TheatreWorks in Palo Alto, CA. The production will be directed by Robert Kelley, who is also TheatreWork's founder and Artistic Director.

6-19-2007 to 7-1-2007 Matt will appear as Curly in OKLAHOMA! at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera for the first show of its 2007 summer season. Jessica Grové will play Laurey and the show will be directed by Glenn Casale, with choreography by Mark Esposito.

•2-6-2007 at 7:00pm, Poe Middle School Lecture Hall. ArtSpeak! is a program that brings artists from Broadway and around the country into our schools. Each artist talks about his or her career, answers questions from the audience, performs, and signs autographs. Held at nearby Poe Middle School in Annandale, this program is intended for both middle school and high school students with their families. It allows high school students to learn from and ask questions of some of the leading actors in the world. Performances are FREE. This program is underwritten by a corporate grant from Shugoll Research.

	•1-29-2007 Matt has been honored with a 2006 San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Craig Noel Award for Outstanding Featured Performance as Pasha/Strelnikov in "Zhivago" at La Jolla Playhouse.
	•Matt and his wife, Jessica (Boevers) Bogart, will perform opposite each other as Alfred/Sam and Josefine/Monica in "Romance, Romance" at Paper Mill Playhouse. Mark Ledbetter and Danette Holden (CCM colleague) will join them in the production directed by Paper Mill's Mark S. Hoebee.

• 5-10-06 to 7-9-06 Zhivago has been extended for two weeks.
Matt is starring in the role of Pasha in the new musical "Zhivago" at the La Jolla Playhouse in La Jolla, CA. He is happy to be sharing the stage with his brother Dominic Bogart.

Due to Matt's involvement with "Zhivago," he will not be participating in the previously posted productions of "110 in the Shade" at Houston's OR "The Full Monty" at Music Theatre Wichita.

1-2006 Matt has been honored with an Affiliated Artistship title at Arena Stage in Washington, DC where he has performed leading roles in Camelot, Orpheus Descending and Damn Yankees under the direction of Artistic Director Molly Smith. Matt also serves as a member of Arena Stage's alumni steering committee.

Matt and Pamela Bob will record an original cast album of "People Like Us," by Todd Almond and Gus Kaikkonen, which was highlighted at the 2005 New York Musical Theatre Festival. The recording will be produced by John Yap on the Jay Records label. Release dates will be announced.

12-9-05 to 2-5-06 "Damn Yankees" - Matt will play Joe Hardy in "Damn Yankees" at Arena Stage with Brad Oscar as Applegate, Meg Gillentine as Lola and CCM compatriot, Cindy Marchionda as Gloria. Arena's Artistic Director, Molly Smith, will direct the production with Baayork Lee as choreographer.

11-2005 Matt will tape an episode of "Law & Order" as Detective Wilson.

11-2005 Matt will read the title role in the new musical, "Ace" for a backers audition in Las Vegas. "Ace" is written by Matt's CCM colleague Richard Oberacker and Robert Taylor.

11-2005 Matt will read and sing the part of Mat Burke in a workshop reading of a new musical version of "Anna Christie," based on the Eugene O'Neill play. Jenny Powers will sing Anna, George Lee Andrews will sing Chris and Paulette Haupt will accompany on piano. "Anna Christie's" Libretto is by Joe Masteroff and music by Edward Thomas.

10-17-05 Matt will perform two staged readings of "People Like Us," at the York Theater for an audience of potential producers at 3:00 and 7:00. This being a result of the success of the NYMusical Theatre Festival presentations.

6-8-05 to 6-12-05

"Phantom" - Matt will perform the title role in Maury Yeston's "Phantom" at Music Theatre of Wichita in Kansas. A family affair, younger brother Daniel Bogart will be playing the role of Philippe de Chandon. Matt will also host MTW's Jester Awards with Wayne Bryan on Saturday, May 28th.

5-19 and 5-20 In a reading presentation of "Grey Gardens" at Playwrights Horizons in NYC, Matt played the characters of Joe Kennedy and Jerry, the"Marble Faun." "Grey Garden's" Book is by Doug Wright, Music by Scott Fankel, Lyrics by Michael Korie and Directed by Michael Greif.

12-23-04 Many members of the Bogart family will be performing at their homtown hang, The Leaf & Vine in Troy, Ohio on Thursday, December 23rd, approximately at 7:30 P.M. The music will be varied and the talent will be excellent for this pre-holiday gig.

Matt ran and finished the NYC Marathon (26.2 miles) in 3 hours, 50 Minutes. Not bad for a 1st Marathon Run. Thanks to his NYC fans, Jessica, Mom, Dad, Dan & Jayne.

Matt and Alice Ripley will perform songs from "Sunday In The Park With George" with the American Composers Orchestra.

Reading of Camille Claudel at the National Alliance of Musical Theatre (NAMT) readings, featuring most of the original Goodspeed at Chester cast.

Matt will be joining Linda Balgord and Christeena Michelle Riggs at the Stamford Center For the Arts' upcoming production of TWO CITIES. It is a new musical based on Charles Dicken's "A Tale of Two Cities" slated to run from August 19th - 29th.

Congratulations to Matt for his 2004 Helen Hayes Award Nomination in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor, Resident Musical for his role (Lancelot) in CAMELOT at Arena Stage. The Helen Hayes Awards will be presented on May 10, 2004 at The John F. Kennedy Center.

"C'est moi!" Matt Bogart sings, encased in armor for his enthralling entrance as Lancelot du Lac in an opulent new "Camelot." C'est him, indeed. As befits a hero of the Round Table, Bogart's arrival comes just in the nick of time, providing a problematic Lerner and Loewe musical from 1960 with one of the brief shining moments it so urgently requires.

In many cases, the too-good-to-be-true Lancelot is almost laughable, especially when he sings his signature song, an ode to his perfection, "C'est Moi." Yet, Matt Bogart exudes such tenderness and romanticism, he pulls off "C'est Moi" with aplomb. Lanky and handsome, he certainly looks the part of Lancelot, and his charged portrayal of the knight escapes any trace of ridiculousness.

Matt Bogart, who earlier this year seemed such a mid-western enchanter as the magical Starbuck in Signature’s 110 In The Shade, is now quite convincing as a French enchanter as Lancelot in this timeless triangle. His “If Ever I Would Leave You” is so drenched with emotion it soars and his “C’est Moi” is both more complex and more compelling than the recordings of previous Lancelots made it seem.

If during the first fifteen minutes into the evening you find yourself looking for the nearest exit, take heart. Once the energetic Matt Bogart bounces on the scene as Lancelot du Lac, the show finally begins. Smith does a fine job with the scenes from there, but without Bogart's stirring rendition of "C'est, Moi," one might pass the time by admiring Kate Edmunds' set and John Ambrosone's gorgeous lighting plot, or even hoping that Paul Tazewell's exotic furs and leathers are of the compassionate faux variety. Bogart infuses the stage--and even the other actors--with enough charisma that we finally begin to appreciate Steven Skybell's mature Arthur and Kate Suber's child-like Guenevere. Suddenly everyone has spring fever: there's a maypole, a unicorn, a picnic, a big fluffy dog, and even Baayork Lee's choreography. Suddenly it's a different show. And we are grateful.

Bogart is quite charming as the upstanding knight and connects well with Skybell. He also proves to be a successful romantic figure - especially during the beautifully performed, "If Ever I Would Leave You."

...when Lancelot (Matt Bogart) sings "If Ever I Would Leave You" to Guenevere. Only one word can describe his voice at this moment - perfect.

After finishing up 110 IN THE SHADE at the Signature Theatre, Matt will be heading back out to Paper Mill Playhouse to do CAMELOT. He's cast in the role of Lancelot, opposite Glory Crampton (Guinevere) and Brent Barrett (King Arthur). CAMELOT is slated to run from April 2nd thru May 18th.

Matt will be performing "Getting Married Today" from COMPANY with Alice Ripley in the Kennedy Center Honors (honoring James Earl Jones, James Lavine, Chita Rivera, Paul Simon and Elizabeth Taylor). This will be taped on December 8th and televised on CBS on Friday, December 27th at 9pm EST.

Matt has also been cast in 110 IN THE SHADE at The Signature Theatre in DC. Rehearsals start December 26th, with the show starting on January 21st and closing March 2nd. Further information to come...

The I Sing! Benefit at the York Theatre this past Monday went really well. Matt, as well as Jessica Boevers, Lauren Kennedy, and Chad Kimball will be going into the studio on Thursday (the 17th) to record the cd. The cd is being produced by Jay Records.

Matt will be doing a reading of a Todd Almond's new musical called PEOPLE LIKE US at the York Theatre on Monday, April 15th at 7:30pm. He will be joined by Pamela Bob that evening. For more information, check out Todd's site.

Matt will be leaving for COMPANY rehearsals in DC next Monday (April 15th), which also starts his leave of absence from AIDA. Bob Gaynor will be taking over as the Radames Standby during this time.

AIDA News -- Adam Pascal has rescheduled his time off, so that means Matt will only be going on from March 22nd - 24th. Sorry to those of you who've bought tickets for the 20th & 21st to see Matt in AIDA. I am sure that you may be able to exchange them at your point of purchase (the box office or through ticketmaster) for the later date(s).

AIDA News -- Matt is scheduled to go on for Adam Pascal (Radames) from March 20th - 24th. Also, come and support Matt on the 21st, as Elton John is scheduled to be in the audience that evening!

Matt leaves for London on the 4th to finish recording the rest of his album. He'll be there for a week then returns to New York for AIDA on the 20th.

It has been officially announced that Matt will be a part of The Kennedy Center's Sondheim Celebration, playing Paul in COMPANY. The cast includes John Barrowman, Emily Skinner, Alice Ripley, Christy Baron, and Keira Naughton. You can purchase your tickets starting February 11th. COMPANY is scheduled to run from May 17 - June 29.

Earlier in December, Matt went into the studio to record the first half of his album and will be heading to London in a couple of months to lay down the rest of the tracks with the National Symphony Orchestra. Just keep checking back for news and a new page featuring information on Matt's upcoming debut album!

There are still no confirmed dates concerning Matt in AIDA. He's on standby, so sometimes he doesn't even know whether he's on or not just a few hours before show time. If Matt finds out ahead of time, I will post the dates.
